March Grant Writing Workshop

FLOURISH St. Louis is committed to ensuring that all community members have the tools and resources to adequately position themselves to develop a proposal in response to their Community Mobilization & Innovation Funds RFP. Several people have asked for help with grant writing, so FLOURISH is offering a 90-minute, interactive workshop to assist groups with applying for the Community Mobilization & Innovation Funds opportunity. This workshop will include:

  • Detailed guidance regarding how to develop and respond to various aspects of the Community Mobilization & Innovation Funds application
  • Detailed guidance regarding how to accurately tell you story
  • User-friendly data sources that can be used to help support your application. identify community specific data, develop maps that can be inserted—We will show you how to use the tools, and you will have access to them immediately following the workshop. Infant-mortality specific data, resources, and support also will be provided.
  • Opportunities to practice what you have learned in the workshop and receive immediate feedback and guidance to strengthen your proposal
  • Technical Assistance with Mosaic Beginnings, LLC after attending the grant writing workshop

This hands-on workshop will be facilitated by Monique A. Norfolk, MPH (Founder & CEO of Mosaic Beginnings, LLC a consulting firm committed to capacity building). Mrs. Norfolk is a certified grant writer and federal grant reviewer for 3 agencies—HRSA, SAMHSA, & CNCS. Additionally, she serves as a foundation reviewer and member of the Grants Management Team for Black Funders of St. Louis. Mrs. Norfolk is a public health professional who brings more than 15 years of experience working in nonprofit, faith-based, and civic organizations. Having experienced both premature birth and the loss of an infant, Mrs. Norfolk is committed to the work that FLOURISH St. Louis is doing. Her passion for serving her community is one principle that guides her work. Utilizing her interdisciplinary team comprised of experts with more than 50 years of combined experience serving at the Federal, National, State and Local levels, Mrs. Norfolk is committed to providing a unique, interactive, hands-on workshop that is both community-centered & driven and community friendly. Attendees will walk away with the ability to adequately respond to the FLOURISH Community Mobilization & Innovation Funds RFP.
