Zero Racial Disparities in Infant Mortality by 2033

Our Leadership

Meet our Community Leaders Cabinet and Community Review Committee.

Community Leaders Cabinet Members

The vision of FLOURISH St. Louis is to achieve a substantial and sustained reduction in infant mortality throughout the community. To help achieve this vision, FLOURISH created the Community Leaders Cabinet (CLC), made up of community members from diverse areas of the community. The CLC helps to provide strategic direction for FLOURISH, identify racial equity barriers and potential solutions from direct experience, and engage the broader community in addressing the challenges that families face.

Inaugural Community Leaders Cabinet Members

The inaugural Community Leaders Cabinet led the strategic prioritization of FLOURISH's work to address infant mortality and began to identify the barriers in our region to achieving racial equity. They elevated potential solutions to improving infant and maternal health which shaped the direction for FLOURISH's community-led investment portfolio and Generate Health's advocacy agenda.

Cabinet members continue their leadership with FLOURISH as vitality champions and vitality fellows. Vitality fellows are committed to mentoring and supporting emerging leadership of new Community Leaders Cabinet members. They assist with recruitment of new Cabinet members, the design and facilitation of the FLOURISH curriculum, creation of outreach events and mobilization of action and they continue to share their expertise to ensure community voices are represented at decision making tables. Vitality champions continue to support the work of FLOURISH through participation in outreach events and mobilization of their community networks, assisting FLOURISH with quality improvement and real-time data collection to inform issues and they participate in community education and resilience building.

Community Review Committee members play a critical role in shaping local investment to support improvements in Black infant and maternal health. Review Committee members select projects to fund in FLOURISH's Community Mobilization and Innovation and Aligned Activities for Priority Areas portfolios. To date, the Review Committee has selected over 100 projects to award grant funding to from over 90 local organizations that support maternal and infant vitality, provide social support and healing, build community, address safe sleep, improve coordinated quality care and address the social determinants of health- including housing and transportation.
